I draw and I animate and I manage creative projects. Over the years, I’ve worked on loads of stuff, from crafting animations for ads, docs and music to drawing illustrations with story, fun characters and inky lines. Some highlights include Directing and Animating the opening titles of the 2022 Commonwealth Games.Catch me using tools like Adobe After Effects, Photoshop, Procreate and real-life ink to get things just right. I’m hands-on and flexible, focusing on a mix of planning and creativity that lets me adapt quickly to feedback and new ideas. Each project gets my full attention to detail and a bit of my own creative touch, making sure the final product is REALLY REALLY COOL.

Forestry England

Hand drawn animal and nature animation

Video

I worked with BenWildStudios and Native Social to create a series of animated wildlife sequences for Forestry England's Creative Wild Spaces for Nature campaign. The project combined hand-drawn illustration, animation and compositing to bring native wildlife into beautifully filmed landscapes. Each animal was illustrated by hand, rotoscoped and animated within a 3D space, allowing the characters to interact naturally with the environment while retaining a crafted, illustrative feel. The animated sequences were used across a series of documentary films, helping to visualise the wildlife, habitats and conservation stories featured throughout the campaign. The challenge was finding the right balance between education and creativity, creating animations that felt engaging and expressive while remaining grounded in the natural world. This project brought together several of my favourite disciplines: wildlife illustration, character animation and motion design, resulting in a collection of sequences that blended seamlessly with the live-action footage and helped tell Forestry England's story in a unique and memorable way.Services: Illustration, Wildlife Illustration, Rotoscoping, 2D Animation, Motion Design, Compositing, Documentary Graphics, Mixed Media Animation.

Flavourly MR Stout Magazine

Cover Illustrations for Beer Box Brand

For several years I worked with MR Stout Magazine, a publication included with a craft beer subscription box, creating both the cover artwork and interior illustrations for each issue.Over the course of ten magazines, I illustrated a series of themed covers inspired by the featured breweries and beer brands inside. Each issue was an opportunity to explore a different visual idea, from quirky characters and visual gags to more detailed scenes, all created in my loose, inky illustration style.Alongside the covers, I also produced spot illustrations throughout the magazine to accompany articles, reviews and features, helping to give each issue a cohesive and playful personality. It was a brilliant project to be part of, combining my love of storytelling, character design and editorial illustration while creating artwork for an audience of craft beer enthusiasts. The result was a collection of magazines that felt distinctive, fun and full of character, with every issue bringing something new to the table.Services: Editorial Illustration, Magazine Covers, Spot Illustration, Character Design, Print Design, Commercial Illustration.Text

The Commonwealth Games 2022

Opening Title Sequence

The Commonwealth Games 2022 – Opening Title Sequence

For the Birmingham 2022 Commonwealth Games, I art directed and animated the opening and closing title sequence, creating a vibrant introduction to the city and the event.Combining live-action footage with hand-drawn animation, the film takes viewers on a fast-paced journey through Birmingham's landmarks, culture and communities. Using a mixture of cel animation, rotoscoping and After Effects compositing, I brought illustrated characters and moments of energy into the footage, celebrating the diversity, creativity and personality of the city. The challenge was creating something that felt both ambitious and welcoming; a sequence that could capture the excitement of an international sporting event while remaining distinctly Birmingham. Working closely with the cinematography and animation team, we developed a visual style that blended seamlessly between illustration and live action, creating a colourful, dynamic world full of movement and character. The finished film was used as the opening and closing title sequence for the Commonwealth Games broadcasts, reaching audiences around the world and showcasing Birmingham at its most energetic and creative.Services: Art Direction, Character Design, Cel Animation, Rotoscoping, Motion Design, After Effects Compositing, Title Sequence Design, Broadcast Animation.

CheapShow

400th Episode Animated Intro

CheapShow 400

This was one of those dream projects that instantly went into the "yes, absolutely" pile. The folks behind CheapShow got in touch to create a special animated intro for their 400th video episode. As a long-running comedy podcast built around obscure junk, strange discoveries and complete chaos, it gave me plenty of room to lean into a fun, playful visual style.Inspired by mid-century UPA animation, I created a colourful, fast-paced sequence timed closely to the show's iconic theme music. The animation combines bold character design, graphic shapes and expressive movement to capture the energy and humour that makes CheapShow such a beloved corner of the internet.Paul Gannon and Eli Silverman have built something genuinely unique with CheapShow, a weird, welcoming and wonderfully silly world that its community absolutely adores. It was a real privilege to help celebrate such a major milestone and contribute a small part to a show that brings so much joy to its audience.Services: Character Design, 2D Animation, Motion Graphics, Storyboarding, Editing, Title Sequence Design, Illustration.

Mello & Caramello Branding

Cafe logo and identity redesign

Illustrator Animator Motion Designer

I worked with the team behind Mello and its sister restaurant Caramello to refresh and expand their visual identity, creating a playful world of characters and illustrations that could live across everything from menus to shopfronts.Working closely with Sham, the owner, and project lead Aiden, I updated the Mello logo and developed a suite of original characters, centred around a cheerful French toast mascot that became the face of the brand. Drawing inspiration from mid-century UPA animation, the artwork has a simple, expressive style full of personality and warmth. The branding extends beyond print and digital, with the illustrations appearing on the shop shutters and throughout the venue, helping to create a recognisable and inviting space. The colour palette leans into rich browns, soft yellows and warm cream tones, reflecting Mello's focus on indulgent French toast, gelato and sweet treats.Alongside this, I also worked on the branding for Caramello, redesigning the logo and creating a collection of single-colour, hand-drawn characters that could be used flexibly across the business. The project included menu design, marketing graphics and a large illustrated mural for the Didsbury location, giving the restaurant its own distinct identity while keeping a family resemblance to Mello. Both projects were a chance to build brands that feel friendly, memorable and full of character, using illustration as the heart of the customer experience.Services: Branding, Logo Design, Character Design, Illustration, Menu Design, Mural Design, Shopfront Graphics, Hospitality Branding.

Kill James Bond! Fan Animation

Titles Animation

Kill James Bond

This was a passion project, created to celebrate one of my favourite podcasts.Inspired by the iconic Saul Bass-inspired title sequences from the classic James Bond films, I created a short animated tribute for Kill James Bond! that reimagines the show's hosts as secret agents on a mission to finally bring 007 down. The animation leans into bold graphic shapes, limited colour palette and simple silhouettes that made those original title sequences so memorable, but with a much sillier and campier twist. Set against a black background, the hosts use increasingly ridiculous methods to try and catch Bond, creating a playful sequence full of visual gags and over-the-top action.I wanted the piece to feel like it could have been an alternative Bond opening, while also capturing the humour and personality that makes the podcast so much fun. It's a love letter to both classic spy films and the show's sharp, irreverent take on them.Services: 2D Animation, Character Design, Motion Graphics, Fan Art, Title Sequence Design, Illustration.
